Bismarck, N.D. — The Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library is teaming up with Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health to promote outdoor activity and nature exploration by giving away free Bug Kits starting Monday, April 7, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
The kits will be available in the Children’s Library and are free and open to individuals of all ages. This joint effort aims to encourage the community to embrace the outdoors as April marks the perfect time to engage in nature-based activities like hiking, playing in the park, or simply taking a walk.
Organizers say spending time outside has multiple health benefits, including improving physical fitness, boosting mental health, reducing stress, and increasing energy levels.
The Bug Kits are designed to enhance outdoor exploration and make spending time in nature more interactive and educational—especially for young children and families.
Members of the media are invited to attend the giveaway event.
The initiative reflects both the library’s and the public health department’s commitment to promoting wellness, education, and community engagement through accessible programs and resources.
