North Dakota – The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that a 63-year-old man from Ruso died in a single-vehicle crash on ND Highway 53 between the evening of November 8 and the morning of November 9, 2025.

According to investigators, the man was driving a 1999 Ford F-250 westbound on Highway 53, west of Butte, when he lost control on the ice-covered roadway.

The vehicle entered the south ditch, rolled, and came to rest on its driver’s side.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash with assistance from the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, Velva Ambulance, and the Butte Fire Protection District.
