Bismarck, N.D. – Tyler Parkway between Country West Road and Valley Drive has reopened to traffic after construction crews completed the main portion of a project that added two new roundabouts.
The City of Bismarck announced the reopening, saying vehicles can once again use the roadway while crews continue work in the boulevards.
As part of the project, roundabouts were installed at the intersections of Tyler Parkway with Country West Road and Valley Drive.
City officials are reminding drivers to slow down when approaching the new roundabouts and follow the proper traffic pattern.
Drivers must yield to pedestrians in marked crosswalks and yield to vehicles already circulating within the roundabout. After yielding, motorists should proceed to the right of the center island and travel counterclockwise while remaining in the black asphalt lane.
The city also noted that drivers operating vehicles with long trailers should be aware that their trailers will likely off-track onto the center red concrete area while navigating the roundabouts.
Although Tyler Parkway has reopened, construction work is not completely finished. Crews are still working in the boulevards along the project area.
Drivers traveling through the area are encouraged to use caution as crews continue completing the remaining work and motorists become familiar with the new traffic configuration.
