Bismarck, N.D. — Hailee Jacobs, a resident at the Bismarck Transition Center and employee at Panera Bread, was recognized for her quick response during a medical emergency in July.

According to the North Dakota Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, Jacobs acted calmly when a co-worker lost consciousness in the restaurant lobby.

She monitored vital signs, called 911, and assisted both the co-worker and arriving paramedics, helping prevent further injury.

Her manager, Crystal, said Jacobs’ steady presence and immediate actions were critical in managing the situation.

Officials commended Jacobs for her courage, quick thinking, and compassion.
