Bismarck, N.D. – Knife River Corporation has provided an update on the East Century Avenue reconstruction project, detailing progress on both the temporary roadway and underground utility installations.

The temporary gravel roadway, currently in use to maintain traffic flow through the construction zone, is expected to remain in place until mid-August. Officials urge both drivers and pedestrians to obey all posted signage and exercise caution while traveling through the area.

Significant progress has been made on underground utilities. While the majority of watermain installation has been completed, crews have now shifted focus to installing the new storm sewer system. This work is actively underway near Roosevelt Drive and continues to move eastward.

Utility work from the western limit of the project to just past Stonewall Drive has been finished. Base rock has been placed up to Patriot Drive, and concrete paving operations are scheduled to begin soon in that section.

Residents with questions or concerns about the project are encouraged to contact project manager Andrew Osborn at 701-989-4959 or by email.

City officials acknowledge the temporary inconvenience caused by the ongoing work and thank the public for their patience as improvements are made to enhance safety and traffic efficiency along East Century Avenue.
