Minot, ND – After more than nine years of using outdated software, Minot City Transit is set to roll out a significant upgrade to its services. The new software, provided by TripSpark, will offer passengers real-time information about bus locations, routes, and schedules through both the city’s website and mobile app.

The upgrade is a response to challenges faced with the previous system, which had not been adequately supported since its provider went out of business. Brian Horinka, Superintendent of Minot City Transit, explained that the old system had become increasingly unreliable over time, leaving passengers with inaccurate tracking information. “We’ve had a program in place for quite a number of years, but unfortunately, that company has gone out of business. So, this system should give us a little bit better tracking information for our passengers to use,” Horinka said.

The new software will also include a trip planner feature, allowing users to map out their journeys in advance, with details about routes and stops along the way. This feature is expected to make it easier for residents and visitors alike to navigate the city’s public transportation system.

With the integration expected to be completed by the end of January, Minot City Transit is hopeful that the new software will enhance the overall experience for passengers, offering them more accurate and accessible information about their transit options.
