If you’re a dog owner, you probably already know just how awesome dogs are. They fill your life with love, loyalty, fur and plenty of reasons to smile. Dogs are man’s best friends, but some humans just treat dogs terribly. Dogs may be man’s best friend but this doesn’t mean that man is always friendly towards dogs. His breeders decided that as a puppy, he was “too big to sell,” and just dumped him.
Luckily for Bert, artist Kathy noticed the dog on Petfinder and instantly decided to adopt the adorable puppy. He was Initially registered as “Jasper,” and Kathy said there was something about his puppy dog eyes that got her interested. “I drove to the town to pick him up, it was a wonderful adventure. The shelter was sad to see him go, he definitely had gotten some special extra love there,” she explained.
She wasn’t the only one who thought that Bert is special – the internet instantly fell in love with the adorable Pomeranian, and he now more than 100k followers on Instagram. In his spare time, he works as an “art connoisseur” in his owner’s gallery The Hole.
“I love when people come to the gallery to see Bertie or when they bring their dogs to meet Bertie! The gallery is free and open to the public so come on by and pet him!” she says. Kathy isn’t really surprised by her dog’s internet stardom. “Bert is a wonderful guy and makes people happy, the internet and social media is built for cute animals, people need an antidote to all the nastiness.”
