Bismarck, N.D. – Week 7 of Citizen Academy took attendees to the water treatment plant on Thursday, where they learned about public works utility operations.
The tour showcased the journey of water from the Missouri River to homes and businesses throughout the community.
The presentation covered various aspects of utility operations, including water distribution, water treatment, utility billing, sanitary sewer systems, stormwater management, the industrial pretreatment program, service line identification, and the wastewater treatment plant.
Citizen Academy provides participants with an inside look at the functions and responsibilities of city departments, enhancing their understanding of public services.
