Bismarck, N.D. – A 22-year-old man died after a late-night shooting in Bismarck, with investigators saying they believe the incident was targeted and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
According to the Bismarck Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 11:10 p.m. Sunday to the area of North 35th Street and East Rosser Avenue following reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found 22-year-old Croix Clooten inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Police immediately began life-saving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived.
Clooten was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The shooting occurred in the 3500 block of East Rosser Avenue, and the Bismarck Police Department said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Based on evidence gathered so far, investigators believe the shooting was a targeted incident and said there is currently no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
As detectives continue investigating, police are asking anyone who may have surveillance video from the 3500 block of East Rosser Avenue or nearby travel routes around the time of the shooting to come forward.
