Bismarck, N.D. – A section of Interchange Avenue in Bismarck is scheduled to close for a full day as crews complete roadway repairs.

According to the City of Bismarck, Interchange Avenue east of State Street will be closed on Wednesday, July 29, for a full-depth roadway repair project. City officials expect the work to be completed within one day, weather and conditions permitting.

During the closure, motorists are encouraged to use Capitol Avenue as the designated detour route while crews repair the damaged section of roadway.

The city said access to the nearby gas station and auto parts store is expected to remain open throughout the project. However, officials noted that the driveways could temporarily close if additional issues are discovered during excavation.

Bismarck officials are advising drivers to plan ahead, follow posted detour signs, and use caution when travelling near the work zone to help ensure the safety of both workers and motorists.

The City of Bismarck said the repairs are necessary to restore the roadway and minimize future maintenance needs.
