Bismarck, N.D. – According to the city officials, this initiative marks a significant milestone, with $3.8 million awarded to 343 organizations nationwide, including Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health.

In collaboration with the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District, the project aims to transform the Expressway pedestrian tunnel along the riverfront trail system. The focal point of this endeavor will be community paint parties designed to create a vibrant mural inside the tunnel.

The initiative not only seeks to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area but also addresses longstanding safety concerns within the tunnel. By improving safety and aesthetics, the project aims to attract additional trail users of all ages and abilities.

The mural project underscores a collaborative effort to create inclusive spaces that promote community engagement and accessibility along Bismarck’s riverfront trail system.
