Bismarck, N.D. – Law enforcement agencies across the Bismarck-Mandan region are teaming up for a coordinated speed enforcement operation from July 11 to 13. The initiative, called “Slow Down BisMan,” is aimed at curbing dangerous driving and improving road safety.
The Bismarck, Mandan, and Lincoln police departments will join forces with the Burleigh and Morton County Sheriff’s Offices and the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Extra patrols will be deployed to monitor high-traffic and historically problematic areas.
Theresa Thom of North Dakota Vision Zero emphasized the urgency of the effort, noting, “Speed-related crashes account for one-third of our fatal crashes.”
Authorities are encouraging drivers to do their part by obeying posted speed limits, allowing extra time for travel, and staying alert behind the wheel. The enforcement push is part of an ongoing statewide effort to reduce traffic fatalities and promote safer driving habits.
