North Dakota – Governor Kelly Armstrong signed an executive order today granting him the authority to appoint a Governor’s Office staff member to chair the North Dakota Military Commission.
Previously, the lieutenant governor held the position of chair for the 11-member panel.
This new order permits the governor to select a chair from his staff.
Armstrong plans to appoint Alan Dohrmann, the Governor’s Office Chief Operating Officer, who retired in July after a distinguished 40-year military career, including over nine years as adjutant general of the North Dakota National Guard.
