Kangaroos are such an iconic animal that they seem to be everywhere you look! In some parts of Australia kangaroos are prolific while in others, they are a dying local species brought about by habitat loss. By now you would have seen the video making waves on the internet where a man punches a kangaroo in the face after he realized what it did to his pooch.

The man in the video, Greg, who is reportedly a zookeeper, was on a boar-hunting trip with a number of his friends. His dog Max got caught in a kangaroo headlock was one of a pack who were helping on the hunt. Apparently this is how kangaroos act in the wild some times?

Whatever the case may be, Greg says he only stunned the kangaroo during their fist fight with his friend Matthew that it was funny because the guy who did it is the most placid bloke. We laughed at him for chucking such a punch. As of now, spokespeople at the zoo are reportedly working with Greg to understand the exact circumstances of the event and will consider any appropriate action.

An animal expert said Greg was “very lucky” the kangaroo did not stick around for a fight. Dr. Mark reportedly said: “Before kangaroos fight, they usually size each other up. If one doesn’t back down, they will get into an aggressive encounter. I think the kangaroo was still in the sizing up stage when he was hit with the punch, and so the man was lucky the roo decided to call it quits.”
