MINOT, N.D. – Members of the North Dakota State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) met for their 112th annual conference on April 24 in the Carnegie Center in Minot.

Special honors went to Culynn Parks, Mohall, who was named the 2021 Outstanding Junior.

Currently, there are 207 members in five chapters in North Dakota. The chapters are Dacotah Chapter in Fargo, Prairie Grass Chapter in Grand Forks, Spirit Water Chapter in Devils Lake, Minishoshe-Mandan Chapter in Bismarck and Plum Valley Chapter in Minot.

The DAR was established in 1890 to promote patriotism, education, genealogy and historic preservation, just to name a few. To become a member, individuals must be at least 18 years of age and be able to prove lineal bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided American independence.
