Bismarck, ND — A 20-year-old man from New Town was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with the theft of a vehicle in Minot. The incident occurred on December 16, when a local resident reported the theft of their purse and vehicle at a business in southwest Minot.
According to the Minot Police Department (MPD), officers were called to the scene around 3:21 p.m. and discovered that in addition to the stolen purse, the victim’s vehicle had also been taken. Fortunately, the victim was able to use a tracking app to locate the stolen car, which was found at the Flying J Travel Center, located at 3800 Highway 2 and 52 West.
Law enforcement quickly responded to the location, with officers from both the MPD and the Ward County Sheriff’s Office arriving at the Flying J. There, they found the stolen vehicle and its sole occupant, a 20-year-old man from New Town, who was arrested on suspicion of theft.
The suspect is currently being held pending further investigation and charges. Police have not released his name at this time.
