Shockingly, it was revealed that her back leg issues existed prior to her pregnancy, indicating the heartless breeding practices that exploited her while she was paralyzed.
The compassionate team at Friends Of Emma not only rescued Maria but also extended their care to three “toddler” pups and the Daddy Dachshund. This rescue organization became a haven for these suffering animals, offering them the love and attention they desperately needed. Back at the rescue organization, Maria received the love and medical attention she deserved. A $3,000 c-section was required for the delivery of her puppies, and thankfully, all seven arrived safe, sound, and healthy.
Rescuers affectionately named Maria and her offspring the “Von Dapp Family” and ensured each pup found a loving home. Beyond the joy of witnessing her babies thrive, Maria received dedicated attention for her own healing. Workers at Friends Of Emma Medical Rescue showered the traumatized dog with love and attention to rebuild her trust in humans. Regular therapy sessions were conducted to aid her regaining the use of her hind legs.
After months of tireless efforts, Maria experienced a miraculous recovery – she began walking. While she may face ongoing challenges with her hind end, Maria is defying expectations by walking, playing, and even running.
