North Dakota – North Dakota Highway Patrol K9 teams are assisting local law enforcement and emergency management agencies in the search for a missing hiker in the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

The NDHP said search efforts are continuing for Artoun Gostantain, who was reported missing after his vehicle was located at the park.

Authorities said Gostantain was driving a silver 2022 Toyota RAV4 with Idaho license plate 1AXX35U, which has since been found at the North Unit.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said its K9 teams have been actively supporting the search alongside other agencies as crews continue working to locate Gostantain and gather any information that could help determine his whereabouts.

Officials are asking anyone who may have information related to Gostantain’s location or recent activity to contact the New Town Police Department or the Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office at 701-628-2975.

Authorities emphasized that even small details could be important in helping search crews during the ongoing effort.

The search remains active, and law enforcement agencies continue coordinating resources in the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
