Ashley Capers, Minot, charged with assaulting a police officer

    Ally Dillinger, 5 years ago
MINOT, N.D. – Ashley Nicole Capers, 30, is accused of punching and trying to bite a Minot police officer during a disturbance in the Trinity Hospital emergency room on March 10.

Capers is charged with Class C felony simple assault on a police officer.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Capers was screaming and yelling and refused to obey instructions from a hospital security guard and shoved the guard. Minot Police Master Officer Krysta Becker tried to get her to calm down but Capers also allegedly refused to obey Becker’s instructions and fought when Becker tried to physically get her under control. Capers allegedly punched, kicked and tried to bite Becker before nurses and other staff helped pin Capers against the wall so she could be handcuffed.

Capers made an initial appearance on the charge on Monday before North Central District Court Judge Richard Hagar.
