Bismarck, N.D. – A commercial truck crashed into a home in Bismarck on Saturday morning, causing significant structural damage and prompting firefighters to stabilize the residence before the vehicle could be removed.
The Bismarck Fire Department said crews were dispatched at approximately 10:53 a.m. on July 18 to the 300 block of W. Rosser Avenue following reports of a commercial truck that had struck a residence.
Firefighters arrived about five minutes later and found the truck had heavily damaged the home.
The first crew on scene assessed the truck driver for injuries and provided medical care until the individual was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The department did not release the extent of the driver’s injuries.
Because of the severity of the damage to the residence, additional fire crews were called to the scene. Firefighters constructed emergency structural shoring to stabilize the home and reduce the risk of collapse before the truck was safely removed from the building.
The Bismarck Fire Department said the stabilization efforts were necessary to protect the structure during the recovery operation.
No information was released regarding whether anyone was inside the home at the time of the crash or if any additional injuries were reported.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Bismarck Police Department.
