Bismarck, N.D. – The Bismarck City Government announced upcoming traffic impacts along Bismarck Expressway beginning the evening of Sunday, May 17, 2026, due to water line repair work.
According to city officials, westbound lanes of Bismarck Expressway will be reduced near the Airport Road intersection.
In addition, the north side of the Bismarck Expressway and 18th Street intersection will be fully closed during the project.
The city stated that the work is necessary to complete water line repairs in the area.
Officials estimated the project will last approximately two months, depending on weather conditions.
Drivers traveling through the area were advised to expect delays and plan alternate routes when possible while construction is underway.
City officials noted that the lane reductions and closure are part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance efforts aimed at maintaining water system reliability and roadway safety in Bismarck.
