Bismarck, N.D. – The City of Bismarck announced that its Street Division will begin crack sealing on various roads and streets throughout the city starting Thursday, March 5, weather permitting. The maintenance effort is expected to continue for several weeks.

Officials said crack sealing is a routine preventative measure that helps extend the life of pavement by preventing moisture from entering and damaging the roadway.

Crews will work through designated areas as conditions allow, with locations subject to change based on weather, equipment availability, and project progress.

Drivers are urged to use caution in work zones, follow posted signs, and remain alert for workers and equipment. Temporary lane closures or brief traffic delays may occur in active work areas.

The city thanked the public for their patience while crews complete this important maintenance work. Residents seeking more information can contact the Bismarck Street Division at 701-355-1700.
