Eugene, OR – The City of Bismarck is sharing new updates from Knife River Construction on the East Century Avenue Reconstruction Project, along with aerial drone footage highlighting the current stage of progress. City officials said the work, which aims to improve traffic flow and infrastructure in the growing area, remains on schedule.

Crews have placed a temporary gravel roadway for traffic from the western limits of the project area to Stonewall Drive. This temporary road surface will likely remain in place until mid-August, according to Knife River. Drivers are reminded to obey all posted signage and remain alert when passing through the construction zone.

Work continues underground as well. Knife River’s crews are currently wrapping up installation of new watermain lines and will soon shift their focus to storm sewer improvements. These updates are critical to long-term drainage and utility reliability in the corridor, city officials noted.

In addition to work along East Century Avenue, progress is also being made on the expansion of 52nd Street NE. The underground phase of construction at that site is now complete. Crews have moved into the grading phase in preparation for asphalt paving in the coming weeks.

The City of Bismarck encourages residents with questions or concerns about the project to reach out directly. Project contact Andrew Osborn can be reached by phone at 701-989-4959 or by email.

While officials acknowledge the inconvenience of construction, they also emphasize the long-term benefit of the improvements. Once completed, the upgrades to East Century Avenue and 52nd Street NE are expected to enhance safety and support continued growth in the area.

Drone footage of the site, provided by city staff, shows steady development and the scale of the work being undertaken. The city plans to share more updates as the project moves forward through the summer.
