Bismarck, N.D. – According to the city officials, the future of Bismarck’s iconic 4th of July Celebration is at a crossroads as ongoing construction on the Capitol grounds presents logistical challenges.
The event, a long-standing tradition for the community, requires a location that can accommodate large crowds and provide a smooth experience for all attendees.
The Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra (BMSO), which has proudly organized the celebration for years, is working closely with a committee of community leaders led by City Administrator Jason Tomanek to explore alternative locations and assess the feasibility of continuing at the Capitol grounds. The committee is also considering reimagining certain aspects of the event to ensure the community can continue to enjoy the festivities.
“BMSO has been honored to bring this celebration to the community, and we are committed to ensuring its continued success,” said Mike Gardner, Executive Director of BMSO. “We appreciate the support of local leaders who are stepping up to help us find the best path forward.”
As the review process continues, organizers are determined to find a solution that preserves this cherished event for future generations. Updates will be provided as decisions are made regarding the 4th of July Celebration’s future.
