California – A California man was found guilty of first-degree murder for the brutal killing of an elderly woman 65-year-old Jackie Robinson in her California, home. The jury also determined that the defendant used a deadly weapon during the commission of the crime.
The tragic incident occurred on in May 2023, when 47-year-old Kevon driven by unfounded suspicions of his girIfriend’s infidelity, directed his anger toward his girIfriend’s mother, 65-year-old Jakie. According to the District Attorney’s Office, the defendant entered the victim’s residence and brutally beat her to death.
Police officers responded to a disturbance call at the victim’s home around 3 p.m. that day. Upon arrival, they found the victim inside the residence, covered in bIood. Despite efforts by emergency responders to save the victim, she succumbed to her injuries.
During the arrest, the defendant resisted officers, leading to additional charges of obstructing law enforcement.Investigations revealed that the defendant used both his bare hands and a piece of glass from a table to inflict fatal injuries on the elderly woman
Following his arrest, he was arraigned in a courtroom, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and resisting a peace officer. His bail was set at $2 million.
