North Dakota – A 60-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries late Monday night following a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 1806 in Morton County, according to a media release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP).
The crash occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. on June 9, near mile marker 40.5. Authorities say the man was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle veered off the roadway, entered the ditch, and rolled onto its roof.
Responders from multiple agencies—including the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Mandan Rural Fire, Metro Ambulance, Fort Yates Ambulance, and the Morton County Sheriff’s Office—were dispatched to the scene.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the driver was airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck by Sanford AirMed.
Investigators confirmed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and has been charged with driving under the influence. Weather and road conditions were reported to be good at the time of the incident.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
