North Dakota – The North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR) recently recognized three distinguished team members from its Parole, Probation, and Pretrial Services (PPPS) division for their exemplary dedication and contributions to public safety and rehabilitation.
Jessica Thorlacius, a Parole/Probation Officer III and Parole/Re-Entry Specialist in the Grand Forks District, was honored with the Sworn Staff Recognition. Known for her professionalism and leadership, Thorlacius has played a vital role in conducting safety assessments, leading interagency collaborations, and delivering critical training sessions. Her consistent commitment to client success and her ability to inspire colleagues were central to her recognition.
Duane Simon, Community Corrections Case Manager for Grand Forks Pretrial Services, received the Non-Sworn Staff Recognition. Simon was commended for his unwavering support of both clients and coworkers, contributing significantly to community safety and positive client outcomes through his diligent case management and team leadership.
Robyn Yon, also a Parole/Probation Officer III and EPICS Coach in the Grand Forks District, was awarded the Encouraging the Heart Award. Yon’s work in coaching and mentoring staff through one-on-one guidance and effective training initiatives has had a noticeable impact on team morale and performance. Known for a solution-focused mindset, Yon has been instrumental in lifting up others across the department.
The DOCR praised all three recipients for their leadership, compassion, and dedication to transforming lives and strengthening communities across North Dakota.
