North Dakota – A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred Thursday morning, June 12, at approximately 7:42 a.m. on US Highway 2 near mile marker 246, about seven miles east of Leeds.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 62-year-old male driver from Devils Lake was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound when the vehicle left the roadway, entered the median, struck an embankment, crossed back across the highway, and came to rest in a slough. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
Road and weather conditions were reported as good at the time of the crash. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
