North Dakota – The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is updating the state’s long-range transportation plan, a process designed to incorporate input from residents and stakeholders through online feedback opportunities and in-person meetings across the state this summer and fall.
The update, known as Transportation Connection Update: 2025-2050, will guide North Dakota’s transportation policies and investments for the next 25 years. Public and stakeholder feedback will help shape the state’s shared vision, values, goals, and strategies for a safe, reliable, and well-connected transportation system.
“Every North Dakotan, in every part of the state, deserves a transportation system that works for them,” said Ron Henke, NDDOT director. “Updating Transportation Connection gives us the chance to incorporate public input as we shape a transportation future that’s safe, reliable and well-connected for everyone.”
Residents are encouraged to participate by attending public input meetings and engaging online through the project’s updated webpage at www.dot.nd.gov/transportation-connection. The site features a transportation priorities survey and an option to sign up for email updates on the project’s progress.
The draft plan is expected to be completed by spring 2026, followed by a statewide public comment period to gather further feedback before finalizing the plan.
