Bismarck, N.D. – Bismarck City offices and the landfill will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. There will be no garbage collection or curbside recycling collection on that day for the gold route.
City officials announced that all garbage and curbside recycling routes will be delayed by one day throughout the week. Monday’s collection will take place Tuesday, Tuesday’s on Wednesday, and so on through Thursday’s route, which will be collected Friday.
All garbage and recycling must be set out by 6 a.m. on the scheduled collection day, though residents may place items out the evening before. Crews will not return for items that are not out in time for pickup.
The landfill will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, and will operate Tuesday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the holiday week.
The Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Center will also be closed Monday, Sept. 1. It will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition, the City announced free landfill disposal for Bismarck residents during the week of Sept. 15–20. Free disposal includes household hazardous waste and electronics, although tire disposal will carry a fee. Residents must present a recent City of Bismarck utility bill or a valid driver’s license showing a Bismarck address to qualify.
