Bismarck, N.D. – The City of Bismarck announced that city offices, the landfill, and the Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Center will close at noon on Wednesday, December 24, and remain closed all day Thursday, December 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.
City officials said garbage and recycling services will operate on a modified schedule during the holiday week of December 22 through December 26. Monday and Tuesday collection routes will be picked up as scheduled, while Wednesday collections will be completed by noon. Thursday’s garbage and recycling gold route will be collected on Friday.
Residents are reminded that garbage and recycling must be set out by 6 a.m. on the scheduled collection day, though items may be placed out the evening before. Crews will not return to addresses where items were not available at the time of initial collection.
The Bismarck landfill will be open Monday and Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., open until noon on Wednesday, closed on Thursday, and reopen Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Center will operate Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., open from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, and remain closed on Thursday.
City officials encouraged residents to plan ahead and adjust disposal needs accordingly during the holiday week.
