Bismarck, N.D. – The Bismarck Fire Department extinguished a structure fire late Wednesday night at a single-family home in west central Bismarck.
Fire crews were dispatched at approximately 11:38 p.m. on February 4, 2026, to a residence in the 400 block of West Avenue C. Firefighters arrived on scene about four minutes later and observed smoke coming from the front door and eaves of the home.
Crews located and quickly extinguished a fire in the kitchen area, which had extended from the basement laundry room. Firefighters conducted a primary search of the residence to check for occupants and completed overhaul operations to locate and extinguish any hidden fire.
One occupant sustained an injury during the incident. No firefighters were injured. Four dogs were rescued from the home, while two cats were found deceased.
A fire investigation determined the cause of the fire to be accidental.
