Bismarck, N.D. – On the evening of March 31, 2025, the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a single-family residence in the 400 block of North Griffin Street in central Bismarck.

The call came in at approximately 10:04 PM, prompting an immediate response from local firefighters.

Upon arrival at 10:07 PM, firefighters observed smoke billowing from the front door and windows of the home. Crews entered the house with a charged hose line, navigating through heavy smoke conditions on the main level.

After a swift search of the home, fire crews located the fire in the basement. A second hose line was deployed to suppress the flames in the basement area.

Fortunately, the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported to firefighters.

Following the successful suppression of the fire, an overhaul operation was carried out to identify and extinguish any remaining smoldering materials.

The fire was contained to the basement, with the rest of the house suffering only smoke damage. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation by authorities.
