Bismarck, N.D. – The City of Bismarck’s Human Relations Committee (HRC) will host a Community Conversation Forum focused on homelessness on Tuesday, November 18.

The free public event aims to foster dialogue about the challenges faced by individuals in Bismarck who have been unhoused or are currently experiencing homelessness.

“It’s critical we continue to host events where we can learn from both subject matter experts and individuals with lived experience,” said HRC Chair Sargianna Wutzke. “Creating opportunities to listen, learn and better understand the core issues affecting our community aligns with the mission of the Human Relations Committee. November is National Homelessness Month, and the week prior to Thanksgiving is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. It is critical we shine a light on these challenges and the local response to them.”

The forum will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Tom Baker Meeting Room, located in the lower level of the City/County Building at 221 North Fifth Street in Bismarck. The event will feature a panel discussion followed by an opportunity for public input.

The Human Relations Committee works to promote inclusion, equality, and accessibility through education and outreach, recognizing the importance of diversity within the community. The committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. in the City/County Building.
