Bismarck, N.D. – The City of Bismarck is encouraging residents to continue visiting downtown businesses by reminding motorists that the first two hours of parking are free at the Third Street Parking Ramp and the Parkade during ongoing construction projects.
According to city officials, visitors can receive the free parking by taking a ticket upon entering either parking facility. The system automatically deducts the first two hours, with drivers only paying if they remain parked longer.
The city is encouraging residents to continue shopping, dining and enjoying downtown despite construction activity in the area.
In addition, officials announced that beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, the intersection of Century Avenue and 19th Street will have reduced lanes as crews realign turn lanes and replace the traffic signal.
The construction project is expected to last approximately two months, weather permitting. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
