North Dakota – A portion of Interstate 94 eastbound was closed March 14 after a commercial motor vehicle hauling potatoes overturned near mile marker 70, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 3:30 p.m., prompting officials to shut down the eastbound lanes while crews responded to the scene.
Authorities later clarified at 4:50 p.m. that the potatoes had not spilled onto the roadway. However, the cargo needed to be offloaded before the semi could be turned upright and removed. Officials reported only minor injuries in the crash.
By 6:20 p.m., the left eastbound lane reopened while the right lane remained closed as crews continued clearing the scene.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., officials announced the crash scene had been cleared and Interstate 94 eastbound was fully reopened to traffic.
