North Dakota – The North Dakota Highway Patrol marked International Dog Day by recognizing its K9 teams and their role in public safety across the state.

Officials highlighted that the specially trained dogs assist troopers in a variety of ways, including tracking missing persons and locating narcotics.

The agency noted that the dogs are not only valuable working partners but also considered part of the law enforcement family.
