North Dakota- A 66-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the morning of March 26, 2025, when a Chevrolet Silverado collided with his Buick Riviera at an intersection on Highway 18.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. when a 16-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on 4th Avenue NE and attempted to cross Highway 18. The Silverado struck the Buick Riviera, causing both vehicles to veer into the east ditch.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where the 66-year-old driver of the Buick was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The teenage driver of the Silverado sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. He was also not wearing a seat belt, though the vehicle’s airbags deployed upon impact.
The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office, Emerado Police, Northwood Deaconess Health Center Ambulance, and Northwood Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
