91 new COVID-19 cases reported in Clay, Otter Tail and Becker Counties, highest weekly Clay County case total since mid-December; state reports 2,004 new infections Wednesday

MINOT, N.D. – On Wednesday, April 7, the state reported an additional 2,004 COVID-19 cases, totaling 532,658 for the entire pandemic, and 19 additional deaths, totaling 6,908 for the entire pandemic. Becker County reported 104 active cases, an increase of 9 active cases since Tuesday. Otter Tail County reported 114 active cases, an increase of 14 active cases since Tuesday. Clay County reported 201 new COVID cases in the past week; their highest weekly total since mid-December.

Following are the state-listed total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the lakes area, by county, as of Wednesday, April 7.

  • Becker: 3,373, up 15 cases since April 6 (48 deaths).
  • Clay (Moorhead): 7,557, up 51 cases since April 6 (89 deaths).
  • Otter Tail: 5,265, up 25 cases since April 6, including 1 additional death (73 deaths).
  • Hubbard: 1,657, up 1 case since April 6 (41 deaths).
  • Norman: 505, up 1 case since April 6 (9 deaths).
  • Mahnomen: 483, up 2 cases since April 6 (7 deaths).
  • Clearwater: 749, no new cases since April 6 (14 deaths).
  • Wadena: 1,384, up 3 cases since April 6 (20 deaths).
