North Dakota – The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that a driver was stopped for traveling 96 mph in a 70 mph zone near mile marker 120 on Highway 83, located between Wilton and Washburn.

The driver received a $150 fine and 10 points on their license.

Officials reminded motorists that speed limits are established based on road design, traffic volume, and crash history, and that higher speeds reduce reaction time and increase the severity of crashes.

Authorities emphasized the importance of following posted speed limits to protect both drivers and other road users.
