Bismarck, N.D. – The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire at an apartment in east Bismarck on Monday afternoon.
At approximately 2:45 p.m. on February 23, 2026, crews were dispatched to a reported fire at a multi-family residence in the 3200 block of East Rosser Avenue. Firefighters arrived on scene about five minutes later and observed smoke coming from a first-floor door of the building.
The fire was extinguished shortly after crews entered the apartment. Firefighters then conducted a thorough search of the residence to ensure no occupants remained inside and performed overhaul operations to locate and extinguish any hidden pockets of fire.
Tenants were inside the apartment at the time of the incident but were able to exit safely. Fire officials reported that damage was confined to the kitchen area, though smoke damage extended throughout the unit.
No injuries to firefighters or residents were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
