North Dakota – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is reminding motorists about the dangers of traveling in high winds after a box truck was overturned during severe weather near Hebron.
According to the agency, the incident occurred on June 7 when a box truck parked on the shoulder of Interstate 94 westbound was struck by strong winds as severe weather moved through the area. The winds overturned the vehicle onto its side.
The Highway Patrol noted that high-profile vehicles, including box trucks, semi-trucks, recreational vehicles, and vehicles towing trailers, are especially vulnerable to strong winds.
Troopers encouraged drivers to monitor weather forecasts and consider delaying travel when high winds are expected. The agency also advised motorists to identify sheltered locations where they can safely park before severe weather arrives.
The post was shared as a reminder of the hazards that strong winds can pose to larger vehicles, even when they are not actively traveling on the roadway.
