North Dakota – Sen. Kevin Cramer shared a personal story about Irene Sprague, North Dakota’s oldest “Rosie the Riveter,” after helping deliver handmade quilts she created for President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Cramer said Sprague had tasked him with delivering the quilts to the president and vice president, a mission he said he was determined to complete.
After the quilts were delivered, Cramer returned to Sprague with photos showing Trump and Vance receiving them.
The senator also brought Sprague a personal gift from Trump — one of the president’s signature red MAGA hats, which had been autographed specifically for her.
“Irene, I love you. Donald J Trump,” the inscription read, according to Cramer.
Cramer said it was an honor to return the photos and gift to Sprague and recognize her contributions as one of North Dakota’s “Rosie the Riveters.”
The term “Rosie the Riveter” is associated with the millions of American women who entered the workforce during World War II, taking on jobs traditionally held by men while many American men served overseas.
Cramer described Sprague as a remarkable North Dakotan who represents the values and service associated with the Greatest Generation.
“It was a joy to be able to recognize this remarkable North Dakotan who represents the very best of us and the Greatest Generation,” Cramer said.
