Bismarck, N.D. – The Bismarck Police Department is set to conduct proficiency tests for archery hunters interested in participating in the City of Bismarck’s archery hunting program. Hunters must pass the test before they can be eligible to hunt within city limits.
The proficiency test requires participants to successfully shoot 4 out of 5 arrows into a 9-inch target circle from an elevated platform at a distance of 20 yards.
Testing will be held at the NISHU Archery Range, located at 1409 Riverwood Drive in Bismarck, North Dakota. The test sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis at the following dates and times:

May 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

May 31 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

June 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
After successfully completing the test, applicants will receive a certification card by mail. This card, along with a valid photo ID, the North Dakota Game and Fish General Hunting License, and an archery tag, must be presented when applying to participate in the city hunting program.
Applications open on June 27 at 6:00 a.m.
