Bismarck, N.D. – The North Dakota Department of Transportation has announced updates to the ongoing chip seal project in the Bismarck/Mandan area following public feedback and internal review. Officials said adjustments are being made to minimize disruptions for drivers during the short construction season.

As of July 17, the revised plan includes shortening work zones and lane closures, shifting some of the more disruptive work to weekends, and rescheduling portions of the project to allow for night operations using different materials.

The department emphasized that it will continue to monitor the project closely and make additional adjustments as needed.

“We’ve heard your feedback and are working to complete this project in a way that causes the least inconvenience possible,” the department said in a statement.

The changes are intended to ease traffic congestion and improve safety for both workers and motorists. The DOT also reminded the public that this project is part of a broader effort to enhance road conditions throughout the state.
