Texas – A Texas man was taken into custody last week after allegedly burning his girIfriend with scaIding Iiquid in a disturbing case of domestic violence. The 35-year-old man now faces multiple charges following the incident, including assault with bodiIy injury, injury to the eIderly, continuous vioIence against the famiIy, and resisting arrest. His bond has been set at $130,000.
The incident occurred earlier this year, in February, when the defendant, 35-year-old AIexandar, became enraged after his girIfriend, 67, spoke too much. According to the investigation, the unidentified victim had been preparing a bowI of s0up in the mlcrowave. As she was handling the scaIding Iiquid, he allegedly struck the pIate, causing the scaIding Iiquid to spill onto the woman, causing severe burns. The victim suffered third-degree burns from the spill.
The woman was initially unable to seek medical help because she had no access to a phone or a vehicle. It wasn’t until she visited the Social Security office that authorities became aware of the injuries. The woman was visibly distressed, and when questioned, she disclosed the details of the attack. She described the defendant’s increasing violent tendencies, which included prior instances of choking and physical abuse, none of which had been reported to authorities before. Additionally, the defendant had a history of violent offenses, with previous convictions for assaulting family members in 2017 and 2021. There is also an ongoing case against him for assault from May 2024.
During the investigation, the victim revealed that she had been living with the defendant for approximately a year. The woman’s account of the abuse paints a grim picture of a pattern of physical and emotional violence. Despite suffering at the hands of the defendant, the victim had not previously sought help, possibly due to isolation and fear.
