Minot, N.D. — A Minnesota man was arrested Friday evening following a serious crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of 4th Avenue and North Broadway, according to the Minot Police Department.

The incident occurred around 7:32 p.m. on June 27. Police say 32-year-old Travis V. Brown was driving southbound when he made a sudden lane change, striking a motorcycle and causing the rider to fall. The motorcyclist was then run over by the rear tire of Brown’s truck. Brown fled the scene at high speed.

A witness followed the vehicle and provided location updates until officers were able to intercept and stop it. Brown was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury, a Class C felony. He was taken to the Ward County Jail.

The motorcyclist was transported to Trinity ER with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains in stable condition.

Minot Police reminded drivers to remain alert and double-check blind spots before changing lanes or turning, especially when motorcycles are present. “Motorcycles are smaller and easier to miss, but the consequences can be severe,” the department stated.
