North Dakota – On a rainy day across much of North Dakota, K9 Lorace from the North Dakota Highway Patrol stopped by the State Emergency Communications Center (SECC) to visit dispatchers who help keep communities safe in all conditions.

The SECC, formerly known as State Radio, continues to serve as the central hub for coordinating emergency communications statewide.

The name change reflects the center’s expanded role in managing and supporting emergency response across North Dakota.

The Highway Patrol highlighted the important work of emergency communicators, who remain the calm voices on the other end of the line, ensuring help reaches those in need.

Officials reminded residents to call 911 in emergencies and 1-800-472-2121 for non-emergency assistance.
