North Dakota – A North Dakota driver was arrested on impaired driving-related charges after a rollover crash in Ransom County on June 2, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. when a 2017 Jeep Wrangler traveling southbound on Highway 32 left the roadway and rolled into a slough before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver was able to exit the vehicle and was not injured in the crash.

According to the Highway Patrol, the driver was arrested for DUI and DUI refusal. The driver was also cited for distracted driving and driving without liability insurance.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said impaired driving and distracted driving remain common factors in crashes and traffic stops across the state. Troopers continue to encourage motorists to drive sober, remain focused behind the wheel, and wear seat belts on every trip.

The agency noted that it shares roadway incidents to educate the public about the situations troopers encounter and the safety risks that can arise on North Dakota roadways at any time.
