North Dakota – Governor Kelly Armstrong has announced that the deadline for school, community, and church bands, orchestras, and choirs to apply for the Governor’s Official State Band/Orchestra Program and Choral Program for the 2025–2026 school year has been extended to Monday, April 14.

Selected groups will represent North Dakota at official state functions, including the State of the State Address. The Governor and First Lady will choose one instrumental and one choral group based on musical talent, achievement, and community involvement.

Interested ensembles must submit an application, references, and a musical recording to the Governor’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on April 14.

The selected groups will be announced later in April and may be invited to perform at the State Capitol in May, as well as at events throughout the following school year.
